About the Information Architecture Competition
The Information Architecture (IA) Competition includes the following tracks: Wireframes and some new IA tracks to be determined. Tracks included in this competition can be added or removed at topcoder’s sole discretion.
Competitors will have from August 1, 2014 – June 30, 2015 to compete and accumulate points leading up to the Finals, being held at Omni Severin Hotel in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA from November 8-10, 2015. The top three scorers for each period will win this fabulous trip, the top scorer from each period wins a big prize, and the top twelve scorers overall will win the cash prizes!

The Rules
The 2015 Topcoder Open Information Architecture Competition will take place online between August 1, 2014 and June 30, 2015 (“IA Competition”). The IA Competition will consist of online qualifying Competitions, with up to twelve (12) of the highest scoring Contestants across all four (4) periods (each, a “Period” and collectively, the “Information Architecture Competition Period”) winning a trip to the onsite Tournament at Omni Severin Hotel in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA from November 8-10, 2015. The IA Competition will include the following tracks of competition: Wireframes and some new IA tracks TBD. Tracks included in the IA Competition can be added or removed at Topcoder’s sole discretion. Contestants are only eligible to win one trip in the Information Architecture Competition of the onsite Tournament through the Information Architecture Competition and if the Contestant has already won a trip to the onsite Tournament, the next highest scoring Contestant may win a trip if that Contestant has greater than 0 placement points in that Round.
The Information Architecture Competition is part of the Tournament, and by participating in this Information Architecture Competition, you agree to these rules and the Topcoder Terms of Use.
Schedule
During the Information Architecture Competition Period, Contestants who have registered for the Tournament no later than June 30, 2015 and who participate in Tournament-eligible Information Architecture Competitions, will receive points as outlined in these Rules. A Contestant’s submission will not be scored separately for the Information Architecture Competition. Only Tournament-eligible Competitions in which registration has started during the (4) Periods shall be included in determining points for the Information Architecture Competition. For the final Period, only Tournament-eligible Competitions which have started and ended during the Period shall be included in determining points for the Information Architecture Competition.

Competition Scoring
Scoring in the Information Architecture Competition and each Period is determined based on the final placement for a Contestant’s submission in a Tournament-eligible Information Architecture competition in accordance with the rules of such competition. A Competition is Tournament-eligible if the Competition is identified as being included as part of the Tournament . All Submissions will proceed through screening policies. Submissions that fail screening will not be eligible for placement points in the Information Architecture Competition. Only Contestants who are registered for the Tournament will be considered in determining place and placement points. Placement scoring is as follows:

Advancement
Upon the completion of all Tournament-eligible Information Architecture contests in a Period, all of the individual placement scores that a Contestant receives during that Period will be added for a cumulative placement score for the Period. Up to three (3) Contestants with the highest cumulative placement score during each Period will win a trip to the TCO Finals.
In the event of a tie, the tie will be resolved in the following manner:
- The tied Contestant who has the most 1st place submissions in Tournament-eligible Information Architecture contests within the Period shall advance.
- If a tie still remains, then the remaining tied Contestant who has the most 2nd place Submissions in Tournament-eligible Information Architecture contests within the Period shall advance.
- If a tie still remains, then all remaining tied Contestants will advance.
